We ordered the Hurricane Ahi Bowl, nachos, and kale salad. It was plenty of food for two people and even left us with some for a snack the next day. I highly recommend the Hurricane Ahi Bowl--it was fantastic. The nachos were tasty, but I would have preferred a cheesy sauce instead of melted whole cheese; I guess I'm just being particular. The kale salad was a great way to enjoy some local greens. There was also a performer out front, adding to the atmosphere. It's a neat place and conveniently close to the nearby hotels.
ON THE BEACH | We scored a reservation at Leilani's last minute while searching for a solid dinner spot with good reviews near us. It was very busy but we got a great table on the covered outdoor second floor, with a great view of the sunset and the water. We started with an order of ceviche to share - it was a little small but a good way to whet our appetites. For some reason, I was lured in by the menu's description of the double r signature prime rib. My dad and I decided to split the 16oz prime rib and made it a surf & turf by adding an order of garlic butter sautéed shrimp. The prime rib was fantastic - and satisfied my craving. The garlic butter shrimp was pretty good but kind of disappointing that we only got a few shrimps for $15. The rest of the family ended up ordering the Seafood Hot Pot (multiple orders lol) and they raved over it - so definitely recommend if it's still on the menu now! Overall, it was pretty busy so service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. Prices are a little steeper than expected for the amount of food you get but everything was fresh and with a great view. For a restaurant in a touristy area, I was satisfied with dinner at Leilani's.
Drink Pele' margarita.Ceviche is great. I have red snapper with coconut mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband had ribs and chicken. Desert Hula pie was delicious. I would come again. Service was great. We had sunset view. Excellent service!
Desperately needed a bite to each while shopping around a very busy 4th of July Whalers Village. We walked into Leilani's barefoot beach bar and got a table and had a lovely time. The coconut shrimp hit the spot, the ahi bowl was tasty but you could both get the ahi grilled rather than fried and I feel like that's ruining what would've been such a nice cut of fish. The pork sandwich was middle of the road (I recommend Hula grill for a really knock out one!). The 4th of July live music was also way too loud- we were literally yelling at each other across the table to be heard haha. But overall had a lovely time, waitress was so kind, food hit the spot, and the wine was good!
Bestie and I took our kids to Leilani's on the Beach in Maui for dinner during spring break and had the most amazing time. The setting was beautiful, with a stunning beachfront view that added to the relaxed, tropical atmosphere. Our waitress was a standout--so energetic, patient, and genuinely friendly. She made awesome recommendations that everyone enjoyed, even the kids. The menu had great options for both adults and children, and everything we ordered was delicious. The only reason for not giving five stars is that it was quite busy, so there was a bit of a wait. However, the overall experience more than made up for it. If you're looking for a great family-friendly dining spot in Maui, Leilani's on the Beach is a fantastic choice. We'll definitely be back!
Good food and nice service. Had a good time for dinner watching the sunset. The burger was delicious and the fries crispy. The coconut shrimp was just ok, too expensive for very little. The lilikoi cake was good although very sweet.
We had such an amazing dinner at Leilanis!! This was absolutely delish. I got the bbq chicken, ribs, and lashed potato pace and it was perfect and sooooo yummy. Insanely good meats the rib fell right off the bone. This was also the best coconut shrimp I have ever had I lovedddd the sauce and they were so crispy. This might be our new fav dinner place in Maui! We had a beautiful view of the ocean at our seats and the restraunt is so pretty too. The service was great and our waiter, Mark, was very quick and attentive and kind. Such a nice guy! Overall would come back here for sure.
We made an early reservation for 4:30 and it worked perfectly. As this is an open air restaurant on the beach, we wanted it to be a good temperature, not too hot and not too chilly. This was a great time. We were seated at a table right by the water which allowed for a beautiful view of the ocean while we waited and then later enjoyed our delicious food and drinks. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol, but I was still wanting a tropical 'vacation' beverage so I decided to try the Tropical Smoothie. This was a perfect blend of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and strawberry. Not too sweet, and gave me that wonderful vacation vibe. When our entrees arrived we were pleasantly satisfied with how delicious they looked, but it was even better once we tasted them! The parmesan crusted fresh catch of the day will not steer you wrong. And adding some coconut shrimp to your meal is really just the cherry on top!
Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water. If you come for dinner time you might be able to watch the sunset. They have these blinds that rolled up as soon as the sun wasn't shining right into the restaurant. Service was excellent. For our appetizer and entrees pretty fast and refills of our drinks regularly. Very impressed The calamari and shrimp pasta were the stars of our meal. I've never had calamari like this but the meat was so tasty and fresh. I didn't even need to dip the calamari, I really just wanted to let the freshness shine through. And I ordered the shrimp pasta and loved it! The sauce was so creamy and perfectly cheesy.
